Sugarloaf Key is one of the Lower Florida Keys islands, sandwiched between Boca Chica Key and Cudjoe Key, located at Mile Marker 16 and extending until Mile Marker 20.  One of the smaller Florida Key islands, Sugarloaf does not enjoy as much fame as some other islands, however, there is plenty to see and do on this charming isle.  Quiet and peaceful, Sugarloaf is a great place to enjoy the beauty of the setting sun or soak up the rays.  Sugarloaf Key may be small, but ample accommodations are available to support the tourist and tourism trade, including resorts, private vacation rentals and campgrounds.

Visit the Bat Tower, a rather unique attraction that tourists shouldn't miss. Built in 1929, a local businessman set up the tower with thousands of bats in hopes of driving away the bothersome mosquitoes.  Instead the bats vacated leaving only the tower as a reminder.

Located just 17 miles northeast of Key West, Sugarloaf is within close proximity to some of the more well known attractions of the Florida Keys, but still quaint enough to provide a relaxing vacation spot.
