Little Torch Key

Little Torch Key is part of the Lower Keys, located along U.S. Highway 1 between Key West and Marathon and just south of Big Pine Key in the Gulf of Mexico.  This little island is named for the torchwood trees that grow here, and is a tranquil, quiet place that isn't overcrowded. For divers, the spectacular corals of Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary are just a few miles away, and Little Torch Key is home to an exlucsive resort located just offshore of the island.  All of the islands of the Lower Keys are known for their family-oriented resorts and restuarants and abundance of outdoor recreation.  You can snorkel and dive at the Looe Key coral reefs, or fish the nearby flats for tarpon, bonefish, or permit or offshore in bluewater for sailfish, marlin and dolphin.

Tour the mangrove forests and wetlands or the sandy lagoons of uninhabited Saddlebunch Keys.  Nearby, you will find Bahia Honda State Park with its white sandy beaches and abundant wildlife.  Bahia Honda Key frequently makes the list of most beautiful beaches in America.  At the end of the day, sit back and relax at one of the island's restaurants or tiki bars as you reflect on another great day in the Florida Keys.
